Bolton Public Library
Board of Trustees
Meeting November 6, 2006

Present: Kelly Collins, Roland Ochsenbein, Bob Zak, Chris Sterling

Minutes:
The minutes of the October 10th meeting were approved.

Director’s Report:
Circulation for October was 4,270.
October is the month to report to the MBLC the estimated number of library visits. This year the estimate is 22,360.
Kelly is continuing to send out reminders about the upcoming billing fee.
Phil is increasing the number of children’s programs offered.
Mary and Linda have signed up for courses toward their MA library certification.
This year is Bolton’s year to be a voting member of the C/W MARS Users’ Council.
Kelly is reading in advance of the move to temporary quarters.
The draft budget request was presented.

Trustees’ Election:
The board of trustees voted to approve the following officers:
Bob Zak – Chairman
Chris Sterling – Secretary/Treasurer
Roland Ochsenbein – Construction Committee Member

Budget:
In light of the expansion/renovation project, the trustees agreed that they did not want to reduce any items. It is unknown when the library will need to relocate. Although the temporary location will be smaller, it will need the same amount of staff, since the director will be spending a considerable amount of her time on the building project. The trustees voted to approve the budget as presented. Kelly will send a final copy to the trustees.

Construction:
The trustees will be meeting with the Board of Selectmen to obtain their signature on the contract with the MBLC. Bob will contact Ann Larsen to find out what we need, and when we need it. The Trustees are half way through interviewing candidates for the Construction Committee. They will continue to interview on November 11th, and stay after the final interview to discuss the candidates. Roland will serve as the interim chair of the Construction Committee for the first few meetings. Kelly will send Roland an RFP for project manager.

Respectfully submitted, the Trustees,
Robert Zak
Christine Sterling
Roland Ochsenbein
